Leading up to No. 1

Our 1st anniversary is coming up (Tomorrow)!! Lets look at where we got engaged.
The Charleston Library Society!!

Before I got married I was obsessed with The Wedding Row. This is actually how I got into Blogging. I recently came across a wedding at the Charleston Library Society and have to share the amazing pictures. Every time Mr.M and I are downtown on King St, we make a point  to stop here and Recreate the moment. Cheesy I know but I love it. It makes me all warm inside.

This is how we spent our wedding night -- walking down King St hand in hand. (this is not us in the picture)

1 more day until Valentine's Day. I cannot wait to share my Bloggy Valentine's Day Swap pictures after Wednesday when the package arrives and all the homemade valentine's day gifts I made for the girls teachers and friends.

11-11-11 Wedding Wonferfulness

Kim (twin sister), me, Andrea, Michael (brother) and my parents
What a beautiful day for a wedding. This was the first time my entire family has gotten together this year. We have been so busy with us having a baby, my sister is about to have her baby any day now and my brother and his wife work full time and go to school.

The wedding was at a beautiful park in Auburn Ga. They had a really nice group of people come to celebrate them. On our families side was our long time neighbors Randy and Rhonda. Rhonda is an aspiring photographer and she took some amazing photos that I will share once I get them. Also, Jim and Nancy who are my parents best friends.

Logan and Sterling

My Nephew Logan was the ring bearer and he was absolutely adorable! This was also the 1st time my brother or sister got to meet Sterling. My sister is about to have her 4th child and it is Finally a girl. We cannot wait for her arrival. She is due any day now. My sister looked beautiful. I could not get over it. Of course everyone thought I was being so mean when I went on and on about it. I did this out of pure love. She is generally not a pleasant pregnant person. She was glowing.

On 11-11-11, there were a whole slew of people getting married. One famous couple from Atlanta was Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann married in their Atlanta home. Then there was Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn who renewed their vows in New York City in 11-11-11 at 11:11AM. With all this hoopla about this date I do not think anyone will be as happy as these two young lovebirds. Congratulations Andrea and Michael!!

We have a Princess ... well not we

Being from America and not having any royalty except the Disney Classics, it is quite strange and exciting at the same time to see a Princess. It is what all of us girls have dreamt about since we were little. My Husband is from Canada and shows some interest in all this as he jokes someday she might be on his money!!

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue

Something old: The bridal gown, from Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, featured “traditional Carrickmacross craftsmanship,” a lace technique that dates back to the 1800s.

Something new: Her parents gifted their daughter with custom-made diamond oak-leaf earrings with a diamond-encrusted acorn set in the middle, a nod to their new family crest.

Something borrowed: Kate’s tiara, on loan from the queen herself, per royal wedding tradition, is a 1936 Cartier “halo.”
Something blue: We can't see it, but a blue ribbon is sewn into the interior of her dress.

Sweetest moment for me was right here:  William and Kate sharing a moment with her father almost like there wasn't 2 Billion people watching them.
And this was only supposed to be a small family affair

Sisters... so lovely

First, I absolutely loved Pippa's dress. This is very Kate style dress and I imagine her to change into something just as stunning for her Reception this evening. The look back to her sister shows the appreciation they have for each other. She looks so happy to be sharing this moment with her.

The Kiss... And there were 2. I almost wish there was a Tidge (my English accent) more intimacy here. Maybe an arm on the small of her  back. All in all, I still feel they are truly in love and it shows.

Brothers: I have not been able to find a good picture of both of them head on. I was so happy to see them together and even joking a little in the beginning of the Ceremony. I loved the way Harry whispered to William as Kate Walked down the aisle. I felt William wanting to turn and see her so desperately. Harry is a fine looking young man.

I wish I had today off to Celebrate and Watch. Being that we are 5 hours behind the festivities I had to get up at 4AM to watch / Tivo. Almost talked myself into going back to bed BUT stayed up to watch. Even had my Dear Husband Texting me from out of town to let me know he was watching too.

And if I did have the Day Off, Unlimited Vacation as well as Unlimited Money... I would be one of these people:

Best Wishes to the Bride and Groom. Many Years of Happiness. Please keep us in your Public Lives as you will change the way we all feel about the Royal Family.

The Day We Became Shaw's

February 14, 2011 -- Valentine's Day. It had been freezing mid 30's - 40's leading up to today. Slowly but surely the temps were getting warmer and thank goodness since we were getting married outside in February. It turned out to be upper 60's sunny and not breezy. Whew!!
We had both sets of parents in from out of town. Mine from Atlanta and Mr. M's from Canada. Our siblings were unable to make the trip to SC due to the timing of the wedding but they were in our thoughts throughout the day. We had to make many promises to visit them and re-celebrate this union of 2 families.

The entire day went as planned. Visit both girls at school with Grandma and Grandpa Sedgley for their V-Day parties. Big Surprise that Mommy got to come let alone Grandma and Grandpa. Wait a minute - what are you all doing here? You are not coming until NEXT weekend. SURPRISE -- Mommy and Mr. M are getting married today. "Do we get to come?" Of course, we would never get married without 2 of the most important members of our family - Lil Miss J and Big Girl H. Off we went to get our hair done at Sherry's Salon. Lil Miss J and I went curly for the big event (we NEVER go curly) and my curly headed Big Girl H went Straight!! She looked amazing. My mom was on hand for all the festivities aka keeping the girls calm cool and collected. After hair off to Makeup. ULTA did a wonderful job making me look like a princess.
A little crammed for time but I was determined not to fall behind schedule as we drove over the Cooper River bridge to check into the Bridal Suite!! Mr. M - my soon to be husband, sent up some wonderful presents and roses. The card was beautiful and a promise to Honeymoon in France. My dream come true. My photographer Katie Moore was absolutely amazing. Everything I could have imagined. Thank you Katie Moore  you were an absolute dream to work with. Our wedding was officiated my Michael Winship of Winship Productions. He did a truly amazing job. The whole event felt so personal and intimate.  Michael and the rest of the gang eased their nerves at a Local Pub. Katie whisked us off around Charleston for some amazing photos.  If anyone knows me they know how much I love my camera and just how few pictures I get to be in since I am always taking them. Our Reception was at my Favorite Charleston Restaurant 39 Rue De Jean. Our friends and family joined us for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner and our cake was from Cupcake. Yumm!!

I ended up taking another day off to spend with my new husband and his family before they headed back to Canada. Unfortunately they came down with a stomach bug and did not see much of the outside of their hotel room. They are all better now and back up in the great white north counting the days until they can come back to 70 degree weather.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people who helped make our day Special.
